Currently, Seyed Mehdi Alizadeh serves as the Acting Ambassador of Afghanistan in Mashhad, overseeing diplomatic and consular affairs within his jurisdiction. In this role, he works closely with Afghan community members, Iran authorities, and relevant institutions to ensure effective consular services, strengthen bilateral engagement, and uphold the dignity and representation of Afghanistan in Iran.
2023 – Present
The Consulate General in Mashhad serves Afghan nationals living across the western regions of the Iran. Under Mr. Ashrafi’s leadership, the mission works to protect the rights of Afghan citizens, support their needs, and contribute to productive diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
